about

After finishing "Dollar Bill", I thought about my musical influences. There was no doubt about Springsteen, but blues influenced rock, from the swampy John Campbell to the roadhouse Jeff Healey, had never really crept into my songs.

I wrote this specifically to show how much that music means to me. Campbell's "Devil In My Closet" is clearly present in my head when you listen to this one.

I have lived some life now. I've earned some of the feeling of the blues. That's why I think it took so long for it to come out. You have to live it to play it well. I'm still holding on tight to my guitar.
